A Woman's Choice

Baby Bottle Campaign 2012

Join us for our 2012 Baby Bottle Campaign!

By filling a baby bottle with change, you are contributing to changing the attitude and circumstances of an expecting mom. As the economy continues to struggle, the hardships of expecting moms in Louisville increase. As the circumstances of these women grow more desperate, the need for our services increases.

Fill a Bottle with Change...

...Change a Life.

There are three ways that your church, business, Sunday School class, Bible study, or organization can help us in this year's Baby Bottle Campaign:

 1. Become a full partner in the Baby Bottle Campaign

Participating in the Baby Bottle Campaign is easy. We provide everything that you need. Here's how it works:

1. You appoint a liaison from your church to communicate with us. The liaison lets us know how many baby bottles you need. We loan the baby bottles to you - no need to purchase them yourselves.

2. On Tuesday, April 17th, there will be a kick-off event at Okolona Christian Church (10801 Faithful Way Louisville, KY 40229) where your liaison will pick up the baby bottles for your organization.

3. On Mother's Day (May 13, 2012), you distribute the baby bottles within your church or organization.

4. On Father's Day (June 17, 2012), you collect all the baby bottles from the donors (and keep them secure until returning them to us). Whether they are full, partially full, or even empty, returning the bottles means we can reuse them in the 2013 Baby Bottle Campaign.

5. On the week of July 9th, your liaison returns the baby bottles to us during a special coin-drop/shake-down event (location and exact date TBD). We will recruit other volunteers to shake the coins out of the bottles and take the coins to the bank to be counted.

Can't participate in May or June? Let us know and we'll arrange to have your organization participate in the Baby Bottle Campaign in any 6-week period of your choice in 2012 that fits your calendar.

When you decide to participate in the Baby Bottle Campaign, here's what you'll get:

  • As many baby bottles as you think you can pass out! Each baby bottle includes instructions on the outside label. Pledge cards will be provided for donors who do not wish to fill a bottle with coins or who wish to express interest in volunteering.
  • Half-sheet flyers to distribute to donors that briefly describes the Baby Bottle Campaign and our ministry. (provided upon request)
  • A promotional video to show in your church service or in your office. (provided upon request)
  • Assistance from our staff and trained volunteers if you have any questions during the campaign.
  • Joy and satisfaction in knowing that you helped us save the lives of unborn children!

If you decide to participate in the Baby Bottle Campaign, here's what we expect of you:

  • Your appointed liaison agrees to communicate periodically with us for the duration of the Baby Bottle Campaign to receive instructions and updates.
  • You agree to keep the donors in your organization informed of announcements related to the Baby Bottle Campaign, especially dates pertaining to bottle distribution and collection.
  • You agree to collect the baby bottles that you obtained from us, whether they are full or empty, and keep them secure until returning them to us at the coin-drop/shake-down event. The baby bottles are the property of A Woman's Choice Resource Center. We understand and anticipate that a few of the baby bottles can not be returned to us due to circumstances beyond your organization's control, but you agree to make reasonable efforts to remind your donors to return the baby bottles in a timely manner.

2. Increase awareness of our ongoing volunteer needs.

A secondary purpose of the Baby Bottle Campaign is to recruit much-needed volunteers. Across all three of our facilities, there are over 175 active volunteers. In 2011, these volunteers served a total of 4,773 hours at A Woman's Choice & Necole's Place!

With the upcoming expansion of the curriculum at Necole's Place which is rolling out later in 2012, we anticipate that the number of available volunteer positions at Necole's Place will triple. In addition, at A Woman's Choice, daily client volume is at an all-time high. Without volunteers, we would have to significantly reduce our programs and services.

There are a number of ways to volunteer with A Woman's Choice & Necole's Place. For more information on volunteering, click here.

3. Donate gently used baby bottles

Put a collection bin outside your nursery or inside your office and ask families to donate large (8 oz.), gently-used baby bottles with lids. New baby bottles cost us $1.00 each. Each year, we distribute thousands of baby bottles to area churches and organizations, and statistics show that we get only half the baby bottles returned to us. For every baby bottle that is recycled, another $1.00 goes back into our programs to directly benefit our moms.

Now in our 24th year of ministry, A Woman's Choice Resource Center & Necole's Place provide essential services and resources for over 3,000 women annually. Click here to download our ministry overview (.PDF). The services at our two downtown pregnancy centers include:

  • Pregnancy tests
  • Ultrasounds
  • Pregnancy & abortion counseling
  • Counseling for women who have had abortions in the past
  • Material assistance with baby and maternity clothing and supplies

Necole's Place, our life-skills and educational center, offers the following services for clients of A Woman's Choice:

  • GED classes and tutoring
  • Money management classes
  • Career workshops
  • Cooking and nutrition classes
  • One-on-one counseling
  • On-site childcare
  • and more!

And thanks to the generosity of churches and individual donors in Kentuckiana, all of our services are provided at no cost to our clients. This is why the Baby Bottle Campaign is so essential to our ministry. Without the Baby Bottle Campaign, our ability to offer high-quality, free services to our clients would be significantly reduced.
