Change...for Life 2010 The Baby Bottle Campaign
The 2010 Baby Bottle Campaign will begin on Mother’s Day, May 9th, and will end on Father’s Day, June 20th. What an excellent way to celebrate these important days at your church while also maintaining a focus on missions. Let us know soon how many bottles you will need and we will get you started today!
For more information contact: candiceawc@gmail.com or 569-0494 Ext. 117
What is The Baby Bottle Campaign? The Silver Baby Bottle Campaign is an opportunity to assist A Woman’s Choice Resource Center to reach several goals: 1) To increase the awareness of the Centers and their services 2) To seek new prayer support and volunteers 3) To raise funds Participating churches will make available to their members a number of empty, plastic 8 oz. baby bottles. The members will take them home and fill them up with silver change over a time period and then return them to their church.
Volunteers from your church may arrange to pick up baby bottles that we provide. When the campaign is over, volunteers will bring the filled bottles to an arranged collection point.
Who Benefits from the Campaign? A Woman’s Choice Resource Center is a Christian, pro-life, non-profit medical clinic that provides free pregnancy testing; ultrasounds; maternity and infant clothing/ supplies; spiritual counseling for women considering abortion; post-abortion mentoring; and information on abortion, adoption, and pregnancy.
Necole’s Place is a community center expansion. Clients are able to get further assistance with skills like obtaining a GED, interview and resume skills, sewing, and cooking. It is a haven that provides a Christian atmosphere and mentoring through exercise classes and child care. Pastoral counseling is offered as well as Parenting and Anger Management classes.
Where are the centers located? Main Pregnancy Center: 101 W. Market Street, Louisville, KY 40202 Phone: (502) 589-9400 Pregnancy Center: 4209 Trio Avenue, Louisville, KY 40213 Phone: (502) 966-9755 Necole’s Place: 706 E. Chestnut Street, Louisville, KY 40202 Phone: (502) 569-0494
A Woman’s Choice Resource Center is committed to protecting the lives of unborn children and ministering to women facing crisis pregnancies. The staff and volunteers of each of our two pregnancy centers strive to share God’s love and to spread his word in the midst of a culture telling women abortion is not just a choice, but the right choice. God has blessed and continues to bless this work. In 2008, these centers ministered to nearly 5,000 women; 587 children were spared from abortion.
Since 2006, at Necole’s Place, our Christian life-skills and education center located at Chestnut and Clay Streets, we’ve been able to provide an environment where women can be loved, nurtured, and encouraged to walk with Christ, even as they face the challenges of motherhood. Many of you have had the chance to see this first hand. Through Bible studies, GED training, counseling, mentoring, fitness classes, and several other unique opportunities, Necole’s Place clients are learning what it means to have new life in Christ.
The Baby Bottle Campaign has provided a wonderful opportunity for individuals, organizations, groups and area churches to be involved with our ministry. The campaign is simple, but powerful: on Mother’s Day, we ask that you distribute empty baby bottles to the members of your congregation. Over the next several weeks, church members are invited to take the baby bottles home and to fill them with silver change. On Father’s Day, those who have filled their baby bottles can return them to your church, and a volunteer from AWC or from your congregation can bring them to an established collection point. What better way to celebrate motherhood and fatherhood than by contributing to a ministry that helps mothers and fathers choose life for their unborn children? |
